An homage to Italian creativity and ingenuity, the Whitney Bag came about as the result of the unprecedented partnership between the Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Max Mara.
April 2015: The Whitney Bag, created in collaboration with the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, was launched at the opening of the new Whitney Museum of American Art building in the Meatpacking District of New York. The Whitney Bag is part of the permanent collection of the New York Fashion Institute of Technology museum. Purity of design meets technical excellence.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iconic Whitney Bag, a limited edition of 125 pieces has landed in store and online. This special edition is a re-issue of the aluminium hued model first introduced in 2015. Also, the Whitney Bag anniversary edition comes in thirteen new colors. The bag is now available in six sizes, with the classic versions joined by a new five-ribbed design.
